Daniel Charon has been creating, presenting and producing his own choreography since 1995. Based in New York City, his work has been seen at many venues including Judson Church, Dance Theatre Workshop, WAX, the 92nd Street Y as part of Friday’s @ noon and Sunday’s at three, University Settlement, NYU, SUNY Purchase, the Limón Studio, and as part of Dancenow/NYC/The Festival, DancemOpolitan at Joe’s Pub, the American Dance Guild Festival, the WAVE RISING FESTIVAL, and the D.U.M.B.O Arts Festival. He has presented two full evening concerts at Joyce SoHo in NYC and co-choreographed There’s More Than Corn in Indiana which was presented at Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. Daniel was commissioned to choreograph new work by the d9 Dance Collective in Seattle, WA, by the Via Dance Collaborative in New York City for their New York season, and by the Limon Institute for their professional studies program. Daniel was a founding member of the Limón Dancers Choreographic Project, which supports emerging choreographers and has choreographed numerous works for the Varone summer workshop where he has been on faculty for ten years. He received a choreographic fellowship from the Summerstages Dance Festival in Concord, MA and has been the company in residence at the Silo at Kirkland Farm twice. Daniel is a recipient of DTW's Outer/Space Creative Residency program.

Daniel was a full-time member of Doug Varone and Dancers from 1999 - 2009 where he served as dancer and rehearsal director and before that was with the Limón Dance Company for three years. Other company credits include Dance Kaleidoscope (Indianapolis, IN), and performances with the Metropolitan Opera, the Aquila Theatre Company, Mordine & Company, the Music Theater of Wichita, am/FM Tap Chicago, the Minnesota Opera, the Denver Opera, and the Red River Dance Company. Daniel teaches at Dance New Amsterdam, the 92nd Street Y, and has taught at the Metropolitan Opera, the Limón Institute, and the Bates Dance Festival. He regularly teaches master classes and workshops all over the country, most recently at the Dance Complex in Boston, MA, and has been a guest artist at Hollins University and the North Carolina School of the Arts. This fall Daniel will serve as an adjunct faculty member at Hunter College in NYC. Daniel has staged the works of José Limón, and Jirí Kylián and continues to stage the works of Doug Varone at various schools and companies such as Bern Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance, Ballet Met, Ririe/Woodbury Dance Company, Zenon Dance Company, Marymount Manhattan College, North Carolina School of the Arts, Fordham at Ailey, Emerson College, University of Akron, University of Maryland, and George Mason University.

Daniel is from Moorhead, MN and is a BFA graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts.
