My technique class embodies a varied background and includes influences from some of my longtime collaborative experiences. In combination with my own perspectives as a dancer and choreographer, I strive to help dancers achieve their individual goals by working towards a strong technical foundation, artistry in movement, and dancing from a neutral, relaxed body. I believe in isolating fundamental elements in individual exercises and then utilizing them in movement phrases to help realize these goals. I try to encourage the dancer to cultivate individual expression within the confines of set material in an effort to develop a unique dancing voice. I believe dance class is not only for people who want to be great performers, but for those who want to express themselves.
